Northlake Behavioral Health System Announces Reopening of Cypress Building

Mandeville, LA (October 21, 2022)- Northlake Behavioral Health System, a landmark behavioral system operating for over 50 years and the largest service provider in Southeast Louisiana is pleased to announce the reopening of the Cypress Building located at 23553 Quail Lane Mandeville, Louisiana 70448. As of Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at 7 a.m. the program is accepting new adolescent female patients.

After strategic planning and renovations, Northlake Behavioral Health System announces reopening its short-term acute adolescent female program. The Cypress building will have the capacity to house 20 adolescent female residents ages 12-17. The expedited project combined efforts between the Director of Plant Operations, and the Therapeutic department. Plant Operations and Maintenance staff worked diligently on upgrading the A/C and heating system for the 10,000 sq ft building bringing together energy savings and exceptional patient care. Numerous additional upgrades help improve the building’s aesthetic while focusing on the patient experience. Researched-backed art installations throughout the building support the healing process and serve as a positive catalyst for enhancing patient well-being. Improvements to the courtyard increase accessibility and the overall patient experience boosting positivity, and reducing stress and anxiety. This healing touch is a critical component of Northlake’s whole patient approach.

Our medically integrated model delivers quality care for those suffering from mental health disorders including co-occurring disorders such as depression, anxiety, and psychotic disorders. Patients benefit from 24-hour care in a supportive environment during their stay by applying modalities such as:

Clinical Therapy- group therapy, individual therapy

Education-understanding the reason for admission
Integrative therapy- Art, Recreation, and Music therapy

Patients complete the program educated, informed, and having acquired coping skills and a plan to address and overcome their challenges. Our Clinical team specializes in Client-Centered Treatment, CBT, Solution Focused, Strength Based, and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT). Prior to discharge, the Treatment team creates a Comprehensive Aftercare Plan to follow the patient into the community. The plan outlines steps and precautions the patient should take following their treatment to prevent future crisis services and rehospitalization. Additional Support Services Include assistance with obtaining treatment and medication, referrals for continued treatment and medication management, and access to housing resources.
