Experienced Staff

You should expect to be asked about what symptoms you are experiencing and about your psychiatric and medical history. Our staff will determine the appropriate level of treatment.

When you call or visit for an assessment, you will be greeted by our professional intake team.

A nurse will provide a medical screening. Your privacy will be respected and all information will be completely confidential. The assessment process usually takes 30-45 minutes, however if you are admitted to the hospital this process may take longer.

Our admissions department is the gateway for all services offered at Northlake. We are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week to assist you. Your initial call to us will be information gathering, to determine how we can best meet your needs.

A follow-up appointment may be necessary which will be scheduled at a time that is convenient for you and/or your loved one. We will work with you to determine the best course of treatment and coordinate future appointments as needed at one of our programs or another agency that will best meet your needs.

If you are experiencing a psychiatric emergency we ask that you immediately dial 911 and seek emergency treatment. If you are interested in being admitted from the emergency room to one of our specialized programs, simply inform the hospital that you would like a referral sent to Northlake.

Paying for Treatment

When someone needs help, there are many decisions to be made. Worrying about how to pay for treatment shouldn’t be an added stress. At Northlake, we work with you and your insurance provider to determine coverage options. We have relationships with nearly two dozen providers and maintain contact with them throughout your treatment stay, providing them the necessary information to optimize coverage.

Northlake Behavioral Health System accepts most PPO and HMO insurances, as well as Medicaid and Medicare for inpatient services. Northlake does not accept Medicaid for outpatient services.

We encourage you to call or make an appointment to discuss treatment coverage. CALL 985-626-6300
