The matrix model is a type of intensive outpatient treatment used to treat alcohol and drug disorders involving stimulants such as cocaine, and methamphetamine. The matrix model uses an integrative approach and includes such treatments as:
- 12 Step facilitation
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Education on addiction
- Family therapy
- Group therapy
- Individual counseling
- Peer support groups for recovery skills
The matrix treatment model normally takes place over a period of 4 months and is followed by continuing care programming then options for aftercare. Individual and group counseling to monitor the progress of the individual’s goals. Group led sessions will also teach how to reduce cravings, manage their time, and connect with positive community supports.
